A stiff neck is typically characterized by soreness and difficulty moving the neck, especially when trying to turn the head to the side. A stiff neck may also be accompanied by a headache, neck pain, shoulder pain and/or arm pain, and cause the individual to turn the entire body as opposed to the neck when trying to look sideways or backwards.
WHAT CAUSES STIFF NECK?
- Fatigue, stress
- Over posture (sleeping in a position that strains neck muscles; holding neck in an abnormal position, such as cradling phone)
- Neck disc (一字 neck)
- Auto accident aftermath
TREATMENT DURATION OF STIFF NECK
There is no cure for stiff neck and the prognosis is quite different depending on the severity of neuropathy.
If the case is chronic, the patient usually has 2-3 treatments a week for two months. In the case of chronic, it is important to continue treatment combination therapies such as a poultice in the home stretch.
